Keynote speakers

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson

Baroness Grey-Thompson is one of the UK’s most successful Paralympic athletes as well as a television presenter, cross-bench peer and Chancellor of Northumbria University.

Matthew Syed

Journalist, broadcaster and author of  a series of books including Rebel Ideas: The power of diverse thinking (2019). He presents a podcast on Radio 5 and represented the UK at table tennis.

Margot Sunderland 

A British child psychologist and psychotherapist, Margot Sunderland is Director of Education and Training at the Centre for Child Mental Health and Honorary Visiting Fellow at London Metropolitan University. She has worked with families and children for more than 30 years, and is author of several books on child mental health.

Dr Nira Chamberlain

Dr Chamberlain is a British mathematician and President of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.  He was voted ‘World’s Most Interesting Mathematician’ by the readers of Aperiodical.com.  Dr Chamberlain will be talking to Conference about the Black Heroes of Mathematics.

Dale Bassett

Dale Bassett is Director of International and Curriculum Strategy at AQA, the UK's largest awarding organisation. He leads the organisation's team of subject experts who work to support world-class teacher, learning and assessment, and its international qualification delivery through Oxford International AQA Examinations. Dale will be discussing the impact of new GCSE and A-level grades.
