Join colleagues from Mounts Bay Academy's multi-award winning music department to see how they have created and implemented a unique and inclusive curriculum (and their own record label - Qube Records) to transform the culture and raise aspirations across their entire school.

The music department is dynamic and stimulating, nurturing musical talent and inspiring students by the success and potential of themselves and their peers to do better. This project has also involved forging strong bonds with their local community which is itself steeped in music and the arts.

As well as contributing positively to the school's overall strong progress 8 score, the wider impact of engagement and success in studying music qualifications is evident in the improvement of oracy for many, and the development of social skills and communication with peers, staff and others. This has led to increased levels of student enjoyment, personal development and general well being with a large proportion of disadvantaged, SEND and low prior attaining students gaining the higher grades.

For examples of their work, please visit the Qube Records website HERE or watch THIS short youtube video.
