Creating a culture of successful partnerships with parents and carers. How this impacts on academic and social outcomes for pupils.

Working in partnership with parents and/or carers is central to the ethos and life of Castlebar School. Consulting them about children's experiences helps practitioners plan for effective learning and helps them support Parents/Carers in continuing their children's learning development at home. Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children’s learning, and levels of parental engagement are consistently associated with children’s academic outcomes. Castlebar has established a range of systems and opportunities to maximise parental engagement and create partnerships that successfully support both pupils and families.

This Sharing Leading Practice webinar focuses on Castlebar’s passion and drive to establish and sustain successful relationships with parents/carers resulting in best outcomes for pupils.

During this webinar, you will have the opportunity to:

1. Learn about the school’s work with parents/Carers from a teaching perspective and from a parent view

2. Hear about ongoing projects to support parents of younger pupils

3. Consider how you might adapt the practice you have seen to fit your own context.
