About the day:
Our Sharing Leading Practice day focuses on the journey we have taken to ensure careers education is an integral part of our pupils’ education and is key to enabling and inspiring all pupils to thrive.
· We will share our three-year action plan with you, describing the vision of Challenge – Aspire – Network and highlighting the associated milestones and barriers we have overcome within our strategic objectives.
· You will have the opportunity to tour the school and have Q&A sessions with pupils and members of our wider Careers Team, understanding the ways that we work together to efficiently deliver our careers education.
· You will learn how and why we have integrated the Skills Builder programme into our curriculum and tutor programme and how we encourage our pupils to celebrate their successes and evaluate the areas they feel require development.
· You will get opportunities throughout the day to reflect and consider how our approach relates to your own context.

About Kingsbury Green Academy
Kingsbury Green Academy is a secondary comprehensive school in rural North Wiltshire and a member of the Ascend Learning Trust. We have 963 pupils on roll, age 11 – 19, with 23% Pupil Premium, 26% SEN and 2% EAL. We are committed to fulfilling the 3 aims of our Trust which are:
- Excellence in education through compassion, respect and ambition
- Value the whole person as much as academic achievement
- Each school should be at the centre of its community
Careers Education is an integral part to achieving these aims and is fully supported by the Senior Leadership Teams. In November 2020, KGA was accredited Excellence in Careers Education by Challenge Partners and in April 2022 Ofsted recognised that “pupils benefit from a well-considered, extensive careers programme”.
The school Ofsted status was changed from Requiring Improvement to Good in all areas and we now have the ambition to become outstanding.
Please note, Kingsbury Green will be asking for a minimum fee to cover refreshments and resources but this will be dealt with directly with the school.
