At Salusbury, our ambition is to create a strong reading culture. Through a well-resourced and carefully sequenced reading programme, we work to ensure all our children become confident and fluent readers.  In an environment that celebrates reading, our highly trained teaching team foster a love of books and reading for pleasure.

Our curriculum is responsive to the needs of our local community and we constantly refine and fine-tune practice according to our pupils’ needs. Effective systems for organising reading underpins our broad literacy programme.

In this session, you will see children in KS1 and KS2 learning to read. There will be time to talk to teachers and leaders about teaching reading at Salusbury and hear first-hand the journey we have been on to create our reading environment. Over the course of the morning, there will be time set aside for reflection, discussion and networking.

We hope you leave Salusbury with plans for reading in your school and ideas for how our approach can be adapted to meet the needs of your learners.

As this is an in person event, there will be a small fee of £5 to cover the costs associated with hosting it at school. Salusbury Primary School will invoice you separately closer to the 14th June.

Please note, we will be closing this event once we have a maximum of 20 attendees signed up so sign up as soon as possible to secure your place!
