Over the last 5 years, Rushey Mead Academy has endeavoured to design and embed a truly bespoke curriculum in meticulous detail which is focused on students knowing more, and remembering more over time, providing the foundations for academic success, both during their time at Rushey Mead and beyond.

In this session, we will examine the decisions made on the sequencing of our curriculum and how the KS3 curriculum provides the foundations for KS4. We will explore how we develop and use worked examples and direct instruction to support this journey, in conjunction with developing the component skills necessary for the composite knowledge. We will also discuss how we have utilised faculty professional learning time to develop a shared understanding of our curriculum and an agreed approach so the experience of all learners is consistent across the school.

There will be opportunities to reflect and discuss on the journey taken within your setting and how we can continue to collaborate and share good practice across a wider arena.
